Fine as a picture book about Dinosaurs, but it was touted as a 3D book. In fact, the depth effect was almost nonexistent. Since the pictures were apparently computer generated, they could have done anything they wanted with the depth, but they chose to make the depth very slight. Haven't seen any of the other books in this 'Discovery Kids 3D Readers' series but if you're looking for 3D books, I would not buy any of the others without checking out the depth first.
This book is okay but I expected more from Discovery. It has pretty impressive computer generated illustrations but usually only one per page. There also aren't many text features so it's not terribly user friendly for reading out loud, since most pages just have several paragraphs of text. Might be good for an older child using it for research, but not great for an early elementary child just wanting to learn some cool facts about dinosaurs.
I bought the book for my Grandson who is very much into Dinosaurs He loves the book , he is 4 but boy he can name them all and he has most of them also. But the book helped him understand about them a little better! .It's amazing how its helped him.
Excellent book! Great pictures - can be used for children at different reading levels. A good purchase.
