These books are stunning! I’m a bit upset that the collectors box has a few small areas of damage from shipping but these are very heavy substantial books. Perfect to read to my son
The books themselves were in great condition. But buying them in a box set, the special box that holds the books was just as important to me, especially because I was going to be giving it as a gift to my niece on her birthday. One corner was smashed, and the top later also peeled up on the same side. Big disappointment for me.
Gorgeous books, love the illustrations. Love the size of the books. The slip case is decently sturdy. So excited to have these to read to my kids!One small issue with shipping. When I opened the box, the plastic was already off half of the package. Luckily, no damage. However if you’re looking to keep this set sealed that would be a problem. Not one for me though!
3 stars because it came damaged. The first time it came in a box with zero padding, the second time in a box with minimal paper padding. Hard to tell if the second box set was damaged prior to shipping. This was a gift for a very attention to detail child so frustrating. I wonder if the books are seconds that already had damage bc I've gotten so many other items that dont damage with more padding. Trying to decide if I want to attempt a third. :(
We were lagging in our Potter-verse reading. We devoured all the movies, and parents read the first 1 1/2 books with the kids early on, but they never picked them up themselves. Enter these LAVISH and exquisite editions. We gifted my 13 yo daughter for her birthday, and she hardly put them down. She carefully removed the dust jackets to stow them in her backpack for reading on the school bus. She finished the first volume in under 10 days. She is burning through them, loves them, and is dropping potter-verse like it's going out of style. Highly recommended, and can't wait for the next volumes.
My wife and i are both huge HP fans. We grew reading the books when we were 10 & 11. These 'picture' books are bringing our imaginations to life in beautifully drawn pictures.Note: this is not a picture book with minimum/abbreviated text it is the complete 3 books with added pictures of things/people in the books.We love them.
The set of illustrated book was a gift to my granddaughter. It looks to be a very good set. I loved that it is illustrated since she is a budding artist.There is a price reduction during my free return time frame. I could have returned the item and reorder one for the reduced price, but I no longer have the item. I wonder if amazon will give me some credit (some other stores do so). I know this paragraph is not really a review, but I can't find any information on a way I can contact Amazon to ask this questions.
This set of 3 books weighs a TON. Well, 13.3 lb to be exact - I put them on the scale. Which means that each book weighs approx 4 pounds!!! Who wants to sit w/a 4 lb book on their lap? Not me, and certainly a young child. Needless to say, I'm returning this set.
