Great intro to CSS animations. Estelle passes on her knowledge in a quick efficient way. The book assumes you know html and css basics.
The content seems good but I found the authors wording terribly difficult to comprehend. I generally already understood the topic but kept having to reread sentences to try and figure not what the author was trying to convey. In short, Im going to look for another book on the topic
Now, this is my desk book about transition and animation
This book spends way too much time talk about the theory of animating. To create an analogy: If I have some text that I want to wrap around an image, I'd just float the image right. And that's what a normal CSS book would tell you. If the author was teaching this, they would spend a couple of pages talking about the advantages disadvantages of coupling images with text, how newspapers historically started this trend, and about how many images you should float in your article (and whether you should alternate the type of float as the images alternate).Another analogy: instead of just going "oh well background-color" will change a shape's color, the author would talk about the importance of color in design, and what type of colors are popular while teaching this. This content is unwelcome and completely unnecessary. I don't need the "oh this is the Disney guidelines for animating stuff". There's a difference between teaching someone how to use Photoshop or a drawing app, and teaching them how to draw. I'm only interested in better understanding the tool and most other css books are similar. I can't tell if the author took this approach just to pad the length of the book or something.
